Let's give it up for kids who give back. To celebrate kids who can't get enough of helping others, don't miss the Nickelodeon HALO Awards on Nov. 30 at 7pm EST!

1. Cassandra Lin finds green ways to heat the homes of underprivileged families.

Cassandra Lin fearlessly founded TGIF (Turn Grease Into Fuel), an organization that turns used cooking oil into environmentally friendly biodiesel. TGIF uses this fuel to heat homes of underprivileged families facing chilly New England winters and has already heated almost 300 homes!

2. Yash Gupta hooks kids up with glasses so they can learn and grow.

When Gupta broke his glasses, he realized that it's tough to learn when you can't even see. He took action and founded Sight Learning, an organization that matches kids with the right glasses (over 21,000 pairs have been given out!). You don't need 20/20 vision to see that Gupta is making a difference.

3. Alanna Wall brings sparkle and fun to kids in hospitals.

Wall learned that adding a little color to another girl’s nails can brighten their whole life. She and volunteers for her organization, Polished Girlz, visit hospitals painting the nails of kids with special needs or who face frequent hospitalizations. There are now over 800 volunteers and 25 chapters nationally!

4. Nicholas Lowinger gives kids in need new shoes and new hope.

When visiting a homeless shelter, Lowinger was shocked to see kids without adequate shoes. To help, he founded Gotta Have Sole so kids could get new shoes and a new outlook. So far, Lowinger has hooked up 21,500 kids in need with brand-new kicks. Way to go, bro!

5. Lulu Cerone makes doing good a good time.

After the 2010 Haiti earthquake, Cerone stepped up and created LemonAID Warriors, an organization encouraging kids to throw charitable and fun Philanthro-Parties. Since then, Cerone has raised over $55,000 for clean water initiatives and over $30,000 for local charities. Get it sister!

6. Miranda Fuentes gives autistic kids confidence by helping them hang ten.

Fuentes works with Surfers For Autism to help autistic kids catch waves and build confidence. Since being introduced to SFA through her autistic brother, Fuentes has helped SFA grow like crazy! She manages SFA's Twitter and Instagram, and lets the world know "how SFA can change their lives."

7. Rocio Ortega gives her all to empower girls through education.

Rocio Ortega is a first-generation Mexican American and a girl power icon. She raises money for girls in developing nations who lack education, food, and safety. Rocio wants to spread the world that it's "our time to have our voices heard! Go girls!"

8. Zachary Kerr speaks out loud and proud about transgender topics.

Zachary Kerr transitioned from female to male after facing gender identity issues. He became his school's Gay Straight Alliance president and spread the word across Massachusetts about issues facing trans students. He has since spoken to policy makers about how they can help the transgender community. 10 outta 10, Zach!

9. Leah Stoltz works hard to inspire confidence in girls with scoliosis.

When Leah Stoltz was diagnosed with scoliosis, her bulky back brace hurt her confidence. She started Curvy Girls of Long Island so girls with scoliosis could talk to others who understood their struggles. Stoltz has since become a spokesperson for the National Scoliosis Foundation. We bet she's just getting started.

10. Brryan Jackson fearlessly opens up and speaks out for people with HIV/AIDS.

Jackson's father injected him with HIV when he was eleven months old to avoid paying child support. After facing discrimination at school, Jackson bravely stepped up and began counseling kids with HIV/AIDS. He also started Hope Is Vital to raise compassion and awareness for people with the disease.

11. Kyle Weiss brings soccer, spirit, and fun to kids in Africa.

Weiss is part of a total soccer-freak family. When he realized that kids in Africa shared his passion for the sport but didn't have a place to play, he took action. He started FUNDaFIELD and raised over $140,000 to help build nine fields in Africa. Weiss, we are cheering you on!

12. Matt Ferguson gives comfort and care to women with cancer.

After his mom got cancer, Ferguson saw how comforted she felt after receiving a care package. This inspired him to start Matt's Chemo Bags, an organization that would send thoughtful gift bags to women with cancer. People were psyched about his mission, and he's raised over $60,000 and given over 7,500 bags.
