Expect a big presence from Nickelodeon at this year’s Comic-Con.
The Viacom-owned kids network will debut an expansive booth that will spiral down from the floor to the ceiling of the convention center, with collaged images from its slate of shows, such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Rugrats, Invader Zim and The Ren & Stimpy Show, The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reveals.
Additionally, the network will use Comic-Con as a three-day open call for original animated project ideas with the animated development team on-site from Thursday, July 24 through Saturday, July 26 to hear 15-minute prescheduled pitches from applicants. The intention is to greenlight an original comedy idea to further develop it as part of the Animated Shorts Program. (Nickelodeon recently ordered to series The Loud House, which was borne from the program.)

Nickelodeon will panel a slew of series throughout the weekend, including Legend of Korra: Book Three (Friday, July 25 from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Ballroom 20), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Saturday, July 26 from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Room 6A) and Sanjay and Craig (Sunday, July 27 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Room 6A), along with a preview of new animated comedies.
Other special integrations are a voiceover booth where visitors can record their own scene from a Nickelodeon animated show, an animated GIF booth, a Tumblr fan-art contest (10 to 15 winning pieces will be showcased at the main booth), autograph signings with stars such as Tom Kenny, Sean Astin and Janet Varney plus character appearances.
Exclusive Comic-Con products also will be sold at the booth: Funko Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles‘ Michelangelo Hikari (see below), KidRobot Bebop figure (see below), KidRobot Rocksteady figure (see below), Playmates original comic Raphael figure (see below) and a Peavey Electronics guitar.
